The Trained Elephant

There was once a king of Kashmir who loved elephants above all other steeds, and had a loyal trainer whose sole job was to tame elephants for the king's service. One day, an enormous wild elephant was brought before the king, and the king commanded the trainer to tame the beast. For three long years, the trainer patiently worked with the elephant until it understood all commands and obeyed the trainer's every order. Hearing the beast was completely tame, the king had the elephant saddled and personally mounted upon its back - only for the elephant to bolt.
