The manuscript was owned by Davidko from the village of Varbitsa, who later settled in Kotel, where he worked as a teacher. The book subsequently passed into the hands of his son Ivancho Davidov, the grandfather of Hristo Aleks. Sapov. The latter donated the manuscript to the National Library in 1928.
