The frame narrative between the internal narratives is heavily cut: From >Gaza< on, only the interpretation after the Empress' stories is included - the rest of the frame narrative is missing. From >Puteus< on, only the Sage's (intellexistis, intellexisti) question is included - the rest of the frame narrative is missing. Many words are crossed out (by another hand, as Roth suggests) (see Roth 2004, p.59).
