General Notes (Internal)

This text is incomplete.

A note on dating: there is some discrepancy in the records about the dating of this manuscript. The date given in Arlima and the Catalogue général des manuscrits is simply 'XVe siècle' (see Catalogue links). However, JONAS indicates that it dates from the end of the 13th, beginning of the 14th century. Further complicating this, however, are the end pages and additional folios. Some of these appear to include a 16th-century poem, while others are extracts from a book detailing the construction of one of duc Jean de Berry's castles, and may be dated precicely to 1387, according to the Saint-Étienne library catalogue.
