Since the publication of an edition of the Sju vise mästare by G. E. Klemming, 1887-1889, the three known Old Swedish manuscripts have been classified into three redactions (A, B, and C). Redaction B belongs to the Old Swedish Version A and has - so far - only survived in one manuscript: Stockholm Kungliga biblioteket HS A 49. The Redaction has been composed between 1400-1450, and, according to Massimiliano Bampi (2007 and 2014), has been translated from a Latin translation of the French Version A. HS A 49 is the only extant manuscript of the Sju vise mästare that is complete.
