Dutch Version H
From The Seven Sages of Rome
The earliest textual witnesses of a Dutch Version H appear in form of the only extant manuscript alongside four print editions. The manuscript Berlin, SBBPK, Ms. germ. fol. 1001 is dated between 1478 and 1494, and the Dutch translation loosely follows the Latin sub-group I.1.c of the Latin Version H (see Schlusemann 2025: 14). Schlusemann also identifies four prints published within that time frame - 1479, 1483, [1484], [ca. 1489] - and eleven prints in total until 1800 (see Schlusemann 2023b: 120).
